Bulldozers use buckets to dig soil, coal, silt, pre-loose soil and rocks and other materials, and then load the materials into transport vehicles or unload them to stockpiles. Today, bulldozers are one of the main construction machinery in engineering construction. Bulldozer guide wheels are installed on the crawler to guide the crawler to rotate correctly. Bulldozer guide wheel assembly can prevent it from running off the track and going off the track. Improper use can also cause guide wheel damage. Hongshengxing Engineering Machinery asks everyone here how much you know about the causes of guide wheel damage? Let's discuss it with Hongshengxing Engineering Machinery.
Working principle of bulldozer guide wheel:
Use a grease gun to inject grease into the grease cylinder through the grease nozzle, so that the piston extends outward to push the tension spring, so that the guide wheel moves left to tighten the crawler. The tension spring has an appropriate stroke. When the tension force is too large, the spring is compressed to act as a buffer; after the excessive tension force disappears, the compressed spring pushes the guide wheel to its original position, which can ensure sliding along the crawler frame to change the wheelbase, ensure the disassembly and assembly of the crawler, reduce the impact during the walking process, and avoid the track chain derailment.
Causes of damage to the guide wheel of the bulldozer:
1. The guide wheel bimetal sleeve sliding bearing has an out-of-tolerance axiality, and the crawler track generates vibration and impact. Once the geometric dimensions are out of tolerance, the gap between the guide wheel shaft and the sleeve is too small or there is no gap, and the lubricating oil film thickness is insufficient or even no lubricating oil film.
2. The surface roughness of the guide wheel shaft is out of tolerance. There are many metal ridges on the surface of the shaft, which destroys the integrity and continuity of the lubricating oil film between the shaft and the sliding bearing. During operation, a large amount of metal debris will be generated in the lubricating oil, which will increase the surface roughness of the shaft and the bearing, and the lubrication state will deteriorate, causing serious wear of the guide wheel shaft and the sliding bearing.
3. There are defects in the original structure. The lubricating oil is injected from the screw plug hole at the end of the guide wheel shaft, and then gradually fills the entire cavity. In actual operation, if there is no special oil filling tool, the lubricating oil is difficult to pass through the circuitous cavity in the guide wheel under the action of its own gravity, and the gas in the cavity is not discharged smoothly, and the lubricating oil is difficult to fill. The original machine cavity filling space is too small, resulting in a serious lack of lubricating oil.
4. The lubricating oil in the gap between the guide wheel shaft and the sleeve cannot take away the heat generated by the bearing due to the lack of oil channels, which causes the bearing working temperature to rise, the lubricating oil viscosity to decrease, and the lubricating oil film thickness to decrease.
Well, the reasons for the damage of the bulldozer guide wheel have been explained, and I hope it can be helpful to everyone. If you want to know more about bulldozer, excavator, and loader accessories, you can pay attention to Hongshengxing Engineering Machinery!
